There’s just one, tiny problem with Samsung’s ‘water resistant’ Galaxy S7
The Korean electronics giant might tout its ‘water resistant’ powers – but it still doesn’t like to spend too long beneath the waves.
SquareTrade dunked the hit new smartphone – rated IP68 for water and dust resistance – under water for 30 minutes, and found that it sounded soggy when it resurvfaced.
SquareTrade said, ‘After 30 minutes, the functionality of both Galaxies were intact. But the audio was permanently muffled and distorted.
The phones will be fine after an accidental drop in the bath in other words.
The new handsets also feature a slimmer 12MP camera designed with low light in mind and offer ‘almost instant autofocus’ to avoid grainy or blurred photos.
Samsung’s ‘Always-on’ display offers a quick glance at information like the time and notifications, and also claims to use less than 1% of the battery per hour.
